About the Program

Halloween Haunts was originally created as a Halloween feature of 89.5 WHRV-FM and 90.3WHRO-FM in 2006. Response was overwhelming from the listeners, and became the nation’s #3 iTunes Halloween download.

In January 2007, Halloween Haunts was entered into the Telly Awards Competition, and won a Bronze for sound design and effects for both radio stations!

Halloween Haunts tales are based on ghostly legends and lore of Hampton Roads, Virginia. I have always had a fascination with ghosts and unexplained incidents, and I never met a person who hasn't had something weird or unexplained happen at some point in his/her life.

I took that idea, then combined it with research into our local history -- the chilling tales passed down through generations that continue to live on.
